A real mid-drive with 100 Nm for under three grand. Hardtail, honest, fun.

Most cheap e-mountain bikes use hub motors, and they ride like it. The Ramblas has a proper 100 Nm mid-drive, which is the whole point of this site, at a price that undercuts almost everything else here.

It's a hardtail, so rough descents will beat you up. But for flow trails, gravel, and getting into the sport without spending a fortune, I think it's the most important bike on this list.

If you're not sure an e-MTB is for you, start here. Worst case, you'll want to upgrade.

What I like
  • Real mid-drive at a hardtail price
  • Strong motor
  • Removable battery
What I don't
  • Hardtail — limited on rough terrain
  • Heavy for a hardtail

Long-term test pending. Aventon, if you'd like this one ridden and reviewed in full, let's talk.
