Canyon sells direct, so you get carbon frames and good parts for what a lot of brands charge for alloy. The Spectral:ON pairs that with a massive 900 Wh battery, which is the kind of thing that makes back-to-back big rides realistic.

Shimano's EP801 isn't the most powerful motor anymore, but it has one of the best reliability records in the full-power world. It's quiet and predictable, and it doesn't throw surprises at you.

The tradeoff is service. You'll need to be OK with doing more yourself or finding a shop that's happy to work on a bike you didn't buy there.

What I like
  • Huge 900 Wh battery
  • Strong value for carbon
  • Proven, reliable motor
What I don't
  • No local dealer support
  • Less torque than the newest motors

Long-term test pending. Canyon, if you'd like this one ridden and reviewed in full, let's talk.
