Transition is a small brand from Bellingham, Washington, with a cult following for bikes that are fun first and race-fast second. The Repeater PT uses SRAM's Eagle Powertrain, which pairs a 90 Nm motor with a derailleur that shifts gears on its own.

Auto shifting sounds like a gimmick until you've ridden it. On steep, techy climbs it changes into the right gear before you think about it, and you can still shift manually whenever you want.

With 170 mm at both ends, it's for people who ride hard. The motor isn't the strongest here, and the 720 Wh battery is mid-pack. But this is a bike built by people who obviously love riding.

What I like
  • Auto-shifting SRAM Powertrain
  • Playful, long-travel ride
  • 170 mm at both ends
What I don't
  • 90 Nm is behind Bosch CX and Avinox
  • Battery isn't removable

Long-term test pending. Transition, if you'd like this one ridden and reviewed in full, let's talk.
